Best Infrastructure of 2023 for KRONOSPAN’s Tortosa plant

On June 13, Alfonso Idoate, CEO of Carbonell Figueras, collected the award at the Foment del Treball auditorium in Barcelona awarded by the Catalonia Infrastructure Advisory Council.

The Albert Vilalta award was given to the builder of the Kronospan industrial wood panel manufacturing plant in Tortosa as the largest industrial project to be built in Catalonia in the past year. It is the largest investment in Catalonia in 2023, exdeeding 350 million euros and more than 100,000m2 of built area, and has had the institutional support of the Generalitat de Catalunya as a strategic project.

The event was attended by Josep Sánchez Llibre, president of Foment del Treball; Joaquim Llansó, president of the Consell Assessor d’Infraestructures de Catalunya; Josep Rull, president of the Parliament of Catalonia; José Antonio Santano, secretary of State for Transport and Sustainable Mobility of the Ministry; Ester Capella, councilor of the Department of Territory of the Generalitat de Catalunya; and Laia Bonet, first deputy mayor for Ecology, Urban Planning, Infrastructure, Mobility, Public Space and Housing of the Barcelona City Council.
